An Application of UNDP - Proposal for IT Development of Iranian Government

Abstract

Nowadays Information Technology (IT) allows governments to serve its citizens in a more effective and efficient manner. The United Nation Development Programme has introduced the framework of "Development Dynamic" which consists of five important interrelated areas for the enablement of IT. This provides an IT policy tool that can be used by the government within developing countries. This paper seeks to extend it for IT development of the Iranian government. For this purpose, primary elements of the intended model are derived through a few popular IT development models, literature, and expert opinion. Finally, a survey is conducted in order to validate the model.
